Hi,
Just an overview of the TSM version and the operating system.
Server - Windows 2003
TSM Server - 5.3
Tape Library - Neo 2000
Number of Tape Drives - 2 (LTO-2)
I am wondering if there's a way to make the last DB backup tape to scratch.
The scenario is we have run out of scratch volumes. All the other tapes in the library are full and there are 2 tapes in 'filling' status but they have reached their limit - moving data from one filling tape to the other is not an option. We have set the reclamation threshold to 51%, we just have a couple of tapes which have reached the threshold, however, we do not have scratch volumes to run the reclamation.
There's just one tape which holds the DB backup and that was backed up some time back since we don't have scratch volumes.
I tried to backup DB to disk giving command -
"backup db devclass=disk type=full" but I get the message
"ANR2360E BACKUP DB: Device class DISK may not be used for database backup.
ANS8001I Return code 3."
We have requested for new tapes, but don't know when it would arrive.
Kindly let me know if there's a workaround to backup the DB and the scheduled jobs.
Also, let me know if you need more information.
Your help on this would be highly appreciated.
Thanks and regards,
