Repurposing TSM tape for STGPOOL Backup

We are in the process of replacing an active tape stgpool with disk and want to repurpose the tape system as a backup for the new disk stgpool. We will be moving the data from the tapes to the new disk. Being a novice with TSM I am not sure how we would go about re-assigning the tape to be used for the backup purposes. Would appreciate any help.
