Hi People,
Got an interesting issue I am hoping someone can help me with.
Basically, we have a small TSM environment, running 5.5.
To allow for real-time monitoring and escalation of certain events, like jobs failing or drives dropping off, I want to be able to track the ANR messages which TSM generates.
In a windows environment, this is relatively simple, as enabling NTEVENTLOG allows TSM to write to the Windows Application log, and from there on in, SCOM can do the rest (send email alerts or page to phone for example).
However, the environment I am now hoping to do the same for is running on Solaris.
What I know about Solaris, you could easily fit on a postage stamp, although I do have access to people with Solaris skills provided I can pass them the correct information.
I'll get to the point .....
Does anyone know a way of sending the TSM events (ANR messages for example), to a Solaris log file of any kind (needs to be on the TSM server prefeably, NOT the client).
I suppose I am looking for an equivalent to the Windows Application log but I may also need some help in setting these up first of all from within TSM itself.
Over to you once again ....
Thanks
