We finally purchased a NAS to replace our DFS file server farm. Even though we plan to use snapshots to provided file level DR for up to 30 days we would like to take a monthly "full" backup and send it off to tape to cover us in the event of data corruption or worse.
At this point I know nothing about NetApp or how to run an NDMP backup. I haven't even read the manual just yet but I will. What I'm I'm looking for here is any kind of tips or tricks that you know of that may save me some time and effort.
We have about 20TB of file server data from 15 million files.
Any input would be greatly appreciated .... whether TSM or NetApp such as snapshot tips and tricks etc...
Thanks in advance!
