We are looking to upgrade our 5 year VTL to a Data Domain boxe and another to our DR site and using replication ( TSM or Datadomain we dont know yet)
i'm reading EMC best practice using a data domain and TSM. Interesting read.
I Got one concern.. the Offline Pool. EMC Suggest using the DD replication for offsite copy. There is alot of advantage of using this. But activating it you cant have an Offline pool. I like the possiblitie to recreate a volume if something happen, with the offline copy..
Not using the DD replication software and using a Offline pool will use alots more time and bandwith when creating the copy to our DR site.
Bandwith and Latency is not a issue cause we are already doing Realtime replication of our critical system
If any admin using DD and TSM share there experience and what setup they choose, it's greatly apreciated.
