EKM CLi Password Change

I recently changed the password for my EKM CLi using chgpasswd -new "new password"

Now when I try to use the CLi it won't take my new or old password. I have not restarted the EKM services (running v2.x on AIX). It's working fine but do I need to restart the service for the new password to take affect? I'm reluctant to do so in case it causes EKM not to load properly.
