How to solve the problem with ANR0482W?

Hi,
Good day to all forum members.
Need help to solve schedule status Failed with my Lotus Domino, TDP for Domino.
The log is not accused of any database failure however the schedule status is Failed

The error is: ANR0482W.
I found this forum the following explanation on this ANR:
ANR0482W Session <SessionNumber> for <NodeNode> name (<ClientPlatform>)
terminated - idle for more than N minutes.
If the messages reflects 15 minutes, your server still has the product
default IDLETimeout of 15 minutes, which is much too small. Boost it to
60: you need a large value to accommodate clients rummaging around in a
large, relatively inactive file system looking for changed files to back
up. If you have a good-sized value already, investigate why your client
is idle so long...which could occur if you need a password on the
command line and neglected to specify one, which causes the *SM client
to prompt and wait indefinitely.
This message can be expected with dsmadmc sessions, which are commonly
idle for long period where an administrator starts such a session but
only looks in a couple of times a day.
Note that the type of session which times out can be expected to be a
Producer Session - the type responsible for querying the server,
establishing communication with the server, and reporting results to the
server. Producer Sessions are inherently idle as they wait for their
companion Consumer sessions to complete their work. Where a Producer
Session times out and goes away, a new one will appear (ANR0406I,
ANS1810E) as TSM starts it when the Consumer session reaches a point
where it needs some session management work conducted with the TSM
server. The client scheduler log will not show any evidence of the
producer session timeout: its consumer session continues processing the
client files, uninterrupted. Larger RESOURceutilization values make for
more Producer Sessions and thus more exposure to idle timeouts.

What to expect after a successful cluster failover DURING a TDP backup/archive?

$

Hi. The organization I work for has dozens of MS-SQL DBs hosted in Windows machines and clustered as MS Resource Groups, about 20 of them. TDP4SQL is properly configured in all of them, and when a cluster failover happens, or resource group ownership is changed on purpose, the new owner node assumes properly its TSM functions. It have happened and worked fine a bunch of times, I can confirm.

But what is it normal to expect if somebody changes the owner node while a scheduled TSM backup or archive is running ?
Shall the backup/archive schedule fail, because node parameters changed on the fly, or shall it end successfully ?

Thanks for any answer, and sorry if the subject has been already discussed here ( I couldn't find any related info on WWW, tried all keywords combinations I can imagine).

restarting pre-empted migration process

I have a library with four LTO-5 drives. I have TSM 6.2.0 setup with six nodes and migproc=4 for my stg pool.

In the case I have 4 migration processes going at once. I issue a restore command and eventually I see in the activitly log something like this:

ANR1440I All drives in use. Process 27 being preempted by
higher priority operation. (SESSION: 271)
ANR1020W Migration process 27 terminated for storage pool
BACKUPPOOL - process canceled. (PROCESS: 27)

I then see the restore process run through lots of tapes and then complete normally, but then a migration process never starts back again. I have to halt the server and restart completely or kill the other 3 running processes first to get 4 migrations processes running again.

Anyone know if this is a known bug or know of any solution?

moving tsm5.4 db to new disks on aix

$

Hi,

TSM5.4 running on AIX5.3

I need to move my tsm5.4 database to a new disk subsystem with much larger disks.

I understand the normal way of doing this - ie define new volumes and then delete the old volumes, forcing tsm to move the contents to the empty disks bu this is likely to be very slow as the database is > 400GB.

Since I'm on AIX, I was thinking that the easiest way would be to simply use the migratepv command and let aix do the work in the background. This way, tsm shouldn't be aware that anything has changed as it will see the same sized volumes in the same filesystems;underneath the covers, aix will have moved the logical volumes from many small physical disks to a single large disk.

An alternative would be to mirror each logical volume at the operating system level and then, when the mirrors are synchronised, remove the primary copy. Again, since this is aix mirroring, tsm should be none the wiser.

Has anyone done this and what approach would you recommend. It's something that I've done many times with other applications such as oracle but I'd like to know if there's any gotchas if I do it with tsm.

Hi everybody,

I have a question for you (SniperKing if you know lol)

In my dream i'am ask if it's possible to have to TSM sharing database?

I'am explain better

I want a TSM in charge of the stockage on tape and share his database (or echange information with the other database) with an another TSM (in charge of the backupset in other)

Or i want to put in place a TSM in Clustering with another in case of the TSM server go down i continu to have a TSM in rescues.

Do you understand what i want or may be it's a stupid idea lol

I am trying to fifure out how these 2 play together.

I have set snapshotprovider vss in the dsm.opt file
I have the serializtaion set to shared dynamic

I have always been under the impression/belief that the TSM client would try to use vss first, and then use the shared dynamic if VSS cannot do the job but I have been told that this is not so from another source and that it should be static/shared static....... this does not make sense to me but I am happy to be corrected.

Hi, All

We have just implemented TSM for Exchange 2010 in a DAG environment, configured with a DAG Nodename.

Has anyone implemented a Daily/Weekly/Monthly Backup schedule for a DAG environment, we require some pretty large retention policies for our data and I require some additional information (outlined below)

Version to be implemented:
Daily - 7 versions
Weekly - 4 versions
Monthly - 13 versions

Type of backups:
Daily - Incremental to weekly fulls
Weekly - Full
Monthly - Full

1. Does Exchange incremental count as a version in a TSM management class (eg. As in TSM for VMware it doesnt)
2. Can I create a second DAG nodename for the monthly management class and just have seperated exch.opt files

Hoping for some guidelines to properly implement these retentions.

ACN5073E None of components entered are in a state to be backed up.

Hi,

I could not find a definitive answer to the "ACN5073E None of components entered are in a state to be backed up error" on ADSM or IBM site.

Basically when I try to run an Exch2010 TDP .cmd schedule file manually I get the ACN5073E error.

I get as far as:

Updating mailbox history on TSM Server
Mailbox history has been updated successfully

Querying Exch Server......

and then it fails...

ACN5073E None of the components entered are in a state to be backed up

My schedule also fails to run

12/17/2013 15:07:42 ANS1909E The scheduled command failed.
12/17/2013 15:07:42 ANS1512E Scheduled event 'UDSMBX_TDP2_TUE1' failed. Return code = 1.

My hunch is permissions as I can manually backup the relevant DB's from the TDP CLI and GUI. I don't know where to look in terms of permissions. The account that runs the TDP Scheduler Service has all the necessary Exchange permissions??

All help much appreciated.

I am trying to install TSM on a Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise server. When process gets to the point where db2icrt is run it errors out with the following

Tue Dec 17 09:49:48 CST 2013 com.tivoli.dsm.ServerConfig.ServerDB.createDb2Inst ance(): Creating db2 instance with cmd: "D:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\db2\bin\db2icrt" TSMINST1 -u USA\TSMSVCACCOUNT001
Tue Dec 17 09:49:48 CST 2013 com.tivoli.dsm.ServerConfig.ServerDB.createDb2Inst ance(): rc from cmd was -1921
Tue Dec 17 09:49:48 CST 2013 com.tivoli.dsm.ServerConfig.ServerDB.createDb2Inst ance(): Stdout:

Tue Dec 17 09:49:48 CST 2013 com.tivoli.dsm.ServerConfig.ServerDB.createDb2Inst ance(): exit, rc 302

I tried to run the db2icrt command using my personal user account instead of the service account and it worked. The service account has admin rights and logon as a service rights. What are we missing here?

Thanks,
-Rowl
